FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is Invite The Power different?

Invite the Power is unique because it’s the only meditation app to offer a new way to explore the power of prayer without dogma. We formulated a special blend of guided meditations with a modernized prayer process (The Prayer Wheel Program™). By fusing a powerful self-care tool with a practical step by step process, we created a one-of-kind platform to engage and awaken your intuitive nature.  At Invite the Power we also strive to connect you with the resources you need to strengthen your meditation practice and provide support for every aspect of your life.

Who created the Prayer Wheel Program™ (PWP)?

The Prayer Wheel Program™ was developed by Dr. Thornton, Canadian psychiatrist and physician.  Dr. Thornton recognized the power of prayer as a way to offer hope and possibilities to his patients. However, he encountered difficulty when recommending prayer to his patients because of the association between prayer and religion; specifically, the dogma within religion. This led him to create a self-help tool anyone can use, regardless of background or belief.

How does the Prayer Wheel Program work?

The Prayer Wheel Program is divided into eight segments, and you can direct your thoughts/prayers to the Source of Goodness or Maker of Life and God. If you don’t believe in a power outside of yourself,  you can talk to your conscious mind, higher-self, or an imaginary friend.  The program combines the meditative qualities of gratitude, forgiveness, love, protection, inspiration, and letting go with the intention setting process of “Asking and Listening.”

What are the benefit’s of using the Prayer Wheel Program?

With continued use you will begin to feel more balanced, mentally alert, and fully present as you engage your intuition in a reliable way.  Soon, you will realize you can tap into a great source of wisdom to guide you in any situation or challenge. You will find yourself moving naturally in the right direction and making better decisions.

You will begin to recognize all will be well even when you’re still in the midst of a difficult situation. You’ll notice a subtle sense of peace wash over you; a soothing calm will surface within your situation. There will be a strengthening of your awareness, creating a greater positive focus on the things you want in life.

What if I don’t believe in God or prayer?

Your beliefs don’t factor into the success of the Prayer Wheel Program.  Whether your beliefs are religious, agnostic, or atheist is irrelevant because the program is “use-dependent” and not “belief-dependent.”

Prayer is not about something you must do; it’s about something that you choose to do. As with exercise, you can choose to exercise or not. If you exercise, you get fit, and if you don’t, you won’t. It’s the same with prayer; if you choose to use it, you will get results, and if you choose not to use it, you won’t get results.

What is dogma?

Dogma: a point of view or tenet put forth as authoritative without adequate grounds; a set of beliefs that is passed down and never questioned.  We are of the opinion that when a belief cannot be questioned it limits the ultimate expression and manifestation of faith.  The pursuit of truth requires questioning and maintaining an open mind which in turn supports the development of faith; because not everything you see is true, many truths remain unseen and truth and traditions do not always march together.

What is prayer?

We define prayer as an ancient technology that precedes religion and was used for intention setting, dialogue, and guidance, and if you apply it in the fashion described, you’ll be able to set your intentions, you’ll be able to have a dialogue, and if you will listen carefully, you’ll learn all about guidance.

What is meditation?

We define meditation as an ancient technology for brain training, relaxation that has the potential to achieve spiritual enlightenment. Studies have shown that daily meditation has great benefits, including better sleep, less anxiety, and better mental focus.
