Gratitude
Gratitude is an essential element of success and therefore an important outcome of prayers. Any person who after praying finds it easier to love others more than them self, gets empowered with the gift of self-love and forgiveness. They find it in their hearts to hold others and embrace them even when they are hurting on their own. Consistent prayers give the individual the power to take control of their lives. They are soon able to take better care of their own self, to enjoy the things that make their hearts sing, and give themselves the time it takes to do those things. Their heart fills up with joy to their brim as they don’t yearn for others’ validation. They feel the peace and love generated in their soul and skin and want to give it back to others as well. They feel glad to be alive as they grab the ropes to their future in their own hands and choose to be happy.
Through praying they learn that they were looking for wrong things in the wrong places. Gratitude, love, relief and happiness all were a self-creation and they were relying on others to give it to them. The feeling of being able to express their deepest regrets and thoughts in each prayer is an admission of their defeat. Once they admit they are not perfect, they find that they have no other choice but to be strong, thus empowering them with a sense of self-acceptance. Self-acceptance means choosing to love our own selves regardless of any circumstance which induces self-acknowledgement. Acknowledging our past, what ever happened to us (good or bad) and how we were victimized or forced others to become a victim of our atrocities frees us to do better. As we strive to do better every day, the trauma of our past and all the left-over pain washes away. We end up feeling nothing but peace and gratitude for being alive. Thus, we are created anew with a chance to leave footprints of our kindness, love and care for others.
