Listening
“The art of conversation lies in listening” as told by Malcom Forbes. What most people complain about in their lives is that they feel unheard. A million thoughts go through each mind every day, just like a million stars gazing us from the sky each night. The only difference is that those shining stars are seen; even appreciated for their beauty. But the thoughts remain unheard and untold. These millions of thoughts if actually perceived, could be written over all the pages in the world without leaving a single piece of parchment to spare. However, we all as individuals keep those thoughts sheltered and perform our day to day tasks in a robotic manner.
Often, we spend our entire lives without being touched by a single soul who could hear our thoughts. We keep on going, until one day it hits us. The melancholy of living but remaining unheard is overwhelming. Sometimes all a person wants is an empathetic ear; all he or she needs is to talk it out. Praying can serve as our go to relief in such a case. Closing our eyes, we can talk our hearts out. The feeling of expressing our deepest desires, anguish against someone or something, love for someone is so sufficing. Each time a person prays, the oncoming darkness in their eyes no longer represents the noise in their life or the anxiousness in their hearts, but in fact is a symbol of a safe place. It reminds us that they might be alone in their journey, but they can talk their hearts out without being judged. They are their own listeners and their own guides. They are all they have ever needed to clear the jingle of their thoughts and to fill in the missing puzzle pieces together. They soon find out what they need to walk ahead in their journey as they get all the answers, they have been yearning to discover by finding a listener.
