Perseverance
Perseverance is something very rare i.e. to keep clinging on to a single thread of hope with slim to none chances of getting it. It means to be able to see light at the end of the tunnel even when there is none and hoping for the better. When someone closes their eyes to pray, they get brief glimpses of every single thing they have ever wanted in their lives. For some, it might be latest model of a car, a big home, great promotion, and the love of their lives; for the rest, it might be a silent prayer to escape from the shards of despair, dejection and loneliness. So, the instant they close their eyes, they get reminded of each desire they have had along with each struggle they have endured.
Bit by bit, they get a chance to take deep breaths and reflect on their lives (every sorrowful and happy moment) and how they have pulled through each instance. Being able to state their thoughts as uninterruptedly as possible through prayer, channels a sense of relief. This feeling of relief is empowering on its own and renders a person with happiness and tranquillity. While they breathe in and out with a firm hope; it contributes much to the perfection of prayer and renders it especially effective.
Prayers in this way, provide reassurance that all will be well one day and the best is yet to come. Each person who prays is able to persevere by reflecting on his own life and finding solace in his own mind. Perseverance built through praying not only removes bad thoughts like anxiety, hatred, frustration, stress, depression, ignorance, jealousy, dogmatism and so on, but also instill a spirit of doing good without expecting something back in return. They say both hope and happiness are self-created. Prayers not only play a role in their producing hope and happiness but give birth to endurance, selflessness, humility, love and regard for others.
